McGrath Information Wayne-Westland Community Schools Department of Special Education
The McGrath Special Education Center at Roosevelt-McGrath Elementary offers classroom settings for elementary age students that have been certified eligible for special education services as Physically Impaired (PI), Otherwise Health Impaired (OHI), Severely Cognitively Impaired (SCI) or Severely Multiply Impaired (SXI). In addition to Wayne-Westland students, our program services students from 11 other districts in Western Wayne County. Not only do our McGrath students receive the specialized classroom curriculum befitting their impairment(s), they also receive the ancillary services so critical to their success in the learning process – occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and language services, hearing and vision services, adaptive physical education services and nursing services.
McGrath
students attend school with the same calendar as Roosevelt, follow the
same breakfast/lunch calendars and are given the opportunity to participate
